The 20th World Petroleum Congress,

The 20th World Petroleum Congress, to be held in Doha, Qatar from 4-8 December 2011, is the most significant and reputable oil and gas industry gathering in the world. Hosted every three years in one of the 60+ member countries of the World Petroleum Council , this will be the first time since the council’s establishment in 1933 that the event has been held in the Middle East. The 5-day congress will attract over 4,000 delegates, 600 media and over 550 congress presenters. The accompanying exhibition is expected to cover 35,000 square metres, surpassing Madrid’s 2008 19th World Petroleum Congress by 20 percent, making this the largest World Petroleum Congress exhibition in history.
